Frequently Asked Questions

Is your facility certified gluten-free or vegan?

No. However, we use only certified gluten-free and vegan ingredients in our gluten-free and vegan products.

All of our products are made on shared equipment, where we use wheat, dairy, and tree nuts. We sanitize all of our equipment and bake our flavors on separate trays and take other measures to reduce the possibility of cross contamination.

Is a gluten-free cookie also vegan?

We do make a cookie that is both vegan and gluten-free, but they are not one in the same. Our gluten-free cookies are made with eggs and butter, whereas our vegan ones are not.

What makes a cookie vegan?

Vegan cookies are made without dairy or animal protein. They are also made with organic sugar because the traditional manufacturing process of sugar makes it unsuitable for vegans. Therefore, we use only chocolate that is made with organic sugar, substitute coconut oil for butter, eliminate the use of eggs and add coconut milk to our recipe.

Our cookies that are both vegan and gluten-free (VGF) are made without eggs, butter, traditional sugars and wheat flour.

Can I ship milk via FedEx with my order?

Unfortunately, we do not ship milk. We sell milk in old-fashioned glass bottles. Milk is highly perishable and would require shipping with dry ice. We will let you know whether we change our policy in the future!

Do you ship via Ground?

Because our products do not use preservatives, and freshness is of the utmost importance, we only ship Overnight and 2nd Day.

The minimum purchase for shipping is ½ dozen.

What is the turnaround time for shipped orders?

Orders placed online by 2pm PST will be processed and shipped within 24 – 48 hours of the order date, excluding holidays. Orders received after 2pm will be logged as received the next business day and processed within 24 – 48 hours of that order date.

If you have an order that must go out the day you are placing it, and it is after 2pm, please call our store; we will always do our best to meet your needs.

Can I place an international order online?

You can place an international order online, but the credit card information will be completed by our cookie concierge who will call you once he/she receives the order.

You may also place an international order via phone or email.

Additional charges apply for taxes and duties, which are determined by each country.

What if an address is incorrect?

A $13 fee will be applied to orders placed with an incomplete address. This fee is one set and charged by FedEx. Please include whether the address is a street, drive, avenue, boulevard, place, lane or parkway, and apartment numbers, buildings or suites. This applies to both residential and business deliveries.

Can I ship to Military Bases?

We do ship to military bases throughout the world via the US Postal Service. However, because our cookies contain no preservatives they are best consumed within 3-5 days of baking, depending on the weather. Before placing your order, please contact us at 323.460.2370 to discuss alternative shipping ideas.

How long do your cookies stay fresh?

DeLuscious Cookies are baked fresh to order without preservatives or hydrogenated oil. They are best enjoyed as quickly as possible, or within 5 days from packing, wrapped and not refrigerated. Otherwise, we recommend freezing them.

What’s the best way to store my cookies?

If you plan on eating the cookies within a couple of days, we recommend leaving them out and not storing them in a refrigerator. Refrigerating the cookies tends to dry them out, otherwise we recommend freezing them.

Can your cookies be frozen?

Yes, our cookies freeze very well! We recommend placing the unopened cookie inside of a resealable plastic bag before freezing. If the cookies are not in their original bag, we recommend wrapping each cookie individually in plastic wrap before placing inside of a resealable plastic bag. When ready to eat, we suggest leaving the cookie out it its wrapper and letting it come to room temperature before eating.

If you prefer your cookie warm, you can either microwave it for 10-seconds or preheat a toaster oven or conventional oven to 300° and warm for 1 to 1 ½ minutes.

What does baked-fresh-to-order mean?

We bake to each individual order, for each person who orders. We do however bake extra dozens of our classic-flavored cookies because of all the last-minute orders we receive.

We bake throughout the day in order to provide you, our customer with the freshest possible product. While this may sometimes be inconvenient, it’s worth the wait.

Can I walk into DeLuscious to purchase cookies?

Absolutely! Walk-ins are always welcome! However, we are not a retail store, we are a bakery and showroom. We do our best to have our most-popular classic flavors and brownies available throughout the day, but we can’t promise that every cookie flavor will be available for walk-in sales.

How much notice do I need to give to pick up cookies?

If you are interested in just purchasing a few cookies, selecting from what we have on hand, you can come in any time, without notice.

If however, you would like to pick up more than a few, individual flavors or either our Couture or vegan gluten-free flavors, please order a minimum of 2 hours in advance and it will be our pleasure to bake them for you.

Where can I park?

You can park in front of our bakery on Highland Avenue or on the side streets, but please be aware of parking restrictions. 

Important: Cars parked on Highland Avenue after 3pm will be towed and ticketed.

Can I include my own gift cards?

You may absolutely include your own gift cards, business cards, supplemental materials with your cookie order.

We simply ask that we receive your add-ons at least 24 hours before your order is scheduled for delivery. It is always our pleasure to accommodate your needs.

How are you cookies packaged?

Our cookies are always individually wrapped for freshness and labeled to ensure customers know what they are eating.

If your cookies or brownies are for a party or an event and you prefer them unwrapped and/or platted, please let us know in advance and that can be arranged!

IS THERE A MINIMUM I MUST ORDER?

  • For pick-up at the bakery= No Minimum
  • For Hand-Delivery= 1 dozen
  • For Shipping= ½ dozen

OPTIONAL: You may also send your own courier service to pick up an order with no minimum. Some of our customers rely on Postmates or UberEATS as an alternative pick-up option.

What is the best way to place a large order for multiple recipients?

Looking to send the same selection to multiple recipients at different addresses? There are two ways of doing this: online or via email.

Instructions for online ordering:

  • When in the shopping cart, select the quantity of a dozen of your choice that you would like to purchase (for example 8 of the classic squares, the classic dozen in a woodgrain box)
  • At checkout, when prompted, include the shipping address for each of the 8 dozen 

Instructions for emailed orders:

Specify which dozen you would like to order and include your gift message.  Please note whether the message will be the same or different for each recipient

Include your contact information (name, phone number, email address) so we may contact you for billing information

For orders that will be shipped via FedEx, please complete the FedEx Multiple Order Template and attach it to your email.  For orders that will be hand delivered, please complete the Hand Delivery Multiple Order Template and attach it to your email. If you are using both methods of delivery, please complete both templates.

Do you hand deliver?

Yes. We deliver Monday – Saturday throughout the Los Angeles area. Specific cities include but are not limited to:

  • Beverly Hills
  • Burbank
  • Downtown Los Angeles
  • Glendale
  • Malibu (call for a quote)
  • Manhattan Beach
  • Pacific Palisades
  • Pasadena and adjacent areas
  • Santa Monica

We hand deliver to Malibu, but because it stretches 21 miles the price for delivery varies; therefore, we ask that you please call us for a quote.

If you are interested in hand delivery to Orange County, or other outlying areas, we recommend you call us for delivery charges.

What time will my hand delivery arrive?

We deliver throughout the work day, 10am – 6pm. We do not guarantee exact delivery times, but will do our best to deliver within your requested time frame.

If you need your order to arrive earlier or within a specific time frame, please communicate that directly with our cookie concierge staff at 323.460.2370.. Our goal is to best meet your needs.

What is the latest I can send out cookies via hand delivery for same day delivery?

You can have cookies delivered as late as you like, but please note there is an additional charge for orders that leave our bakery after 5pm.

Cut-off times for online orders requesting same day delivery is 2pm PST. However, if you have an order that must arrive the same day and you place it after 2pm, please call our store; we will always do our best to meet your needs.

Is a receipt included with my order?

Unless a receipt is specifically requested with an order, we NEVER include a receipt with an order. Additionally, we do not include DeLuscious promotional materials or menus with our orders.

Do you deliver to studios?

Yes! We deliver to all studios. Because studios often restrict deliveries and require drop-off in the mailroom, this information is required for studio delivery:

  • Building name and/or number
  • Exact room number
  • Name and telephone number of a contact on-site, who can vouch for delivery

To ensure your order makes it to the right person as quickly as possible, we include all the details you provide us on an eternal label to expedite and facilitate your order by the mailroom staff.

Do you deliver to hospitals?

Yes, we deliver to hospitals but each hospital has its own stipulations and regulations regarding deliveries. Sometimes we are permitted to deliver directly to a patient or hospital worker and other times, they have their own volunteers who deliver.

Therefore, please provide this information for delivery to a hospital:

  • Name and street address of the hospital
  • Building name and/or number
  • Correct name of patient or recipient,
  • Verified room number
  • Phone numbers!
    • for patient’s room; AND
    • Nurse’s station or on-site caretaker

Please note hospitals do have different cut-off times for receiving gifts; we are required to abide by their guidelines.
If we are required to pay for parking while making a delivery, this may result an additional charge for the sender; we may not know this until the delivery has been completed.

Is there a minimum purchase for hand delivery?

Yes; the minimum purchase for hand delivery is 1 dozen.

Can you deliver my cookies warm or hot?

While our cookies are baked fresh throughout the day and often are warm when packed for delivery, we cannot guarantee that they will arrive warm or hot. Unfortunately, traffic, weather, and unexpected delivery location challenges inhibit our ability to specify a delivery time.

You can always warm individual cookies to your liking by following these instructions:

  • Microwave an individual cookie for up to 10 seconds; OR
  • place it in a pre-heated toaster oven (300°) for 1 to 1 ½ minutes.

What are your packaging options?

We understand the importance of presentation when sending a gift and for that reason, we have three tiers of packaging options:

  • white (complimentary) box
  • woodgrain gift box
  • handcrafted fabric box

All our boxes are made in the USA.

The white box is no additional charge. It is lined with kraft-colored tissue paper and filled with individually-wrapped cookies, finished with a personalized gift note that is placed on top of the folded tissue paper within the box. Each box is sealed with a chocolate brown ribbon and a “to/from” label on the upper right corner.

You may ship directly in this box without a ribbon, or for an additional charge place it within an external shipping box with a ribbon for a more gift-like presentation.

The 2-piece wood grain gift box is made partially by hand and locally in Los Angeles with paper designed exclusively for DeLuscious Cookies. Filled with individually-wrapped cookies on top of brown tissue and sealed with a beautiful chocolate brown grosgrain ribbon, its tone is neutral and suitable for men and women alike.

It is shipped within our white complimentary box, which serves as the external shipping box at no additional charge.

The fabric box is our top-of-the-line bespoke box, made completely by hand. It is made from recycled materials and lined with a rich chocolate brown fabric. The recipient of this gift would want to either keep or repurpose this beautiful box.

The fabric box is lined in chocolate brown tissue paper and comes with a DeLuscious hang tag and is shipped in an external box at no additional charge for the shipping box.

Can you customize packaging?

Yes; we can either customize your actual boxes or make the packaging more reflective of your brand or event by changing the tissue paper and/or ribbon; incorporating hang tags (either by customizing them or adding them to packages where they are not included); printing branded labels to affix to the actual cookie bags; and more. Additional charges may apply.

What if I need to cancel an order that has already been placed?

If you place an order online, or via phone or email, we ask that you call to cancel your order 24 hours prior to the date that the cookies are to be hand-delivered or shipped out.

If, however, your order has already been processed and is en route to its destination, it cannot be cancelled.

We will do our best to redirect your cookies to another address if that is preferred, but there may be an additional charge depending on the circumstances.

Whether you choose to customize your note cards, tissue paper, gift boxes or ribbons, we can do it all.  We understand the importance of representing your company, project(s) and brand to your satisfaction.  For this reason, we have always offered our clients the option to customize.  Additional charges may apply.

Which of your cookies contain nuts?

Only the following cookies are made with tree nuts or peanuts:

  • Chocolate Chip Walnut
  • Chocolate Candied Pecan
  • Peanut Butter
  • Peanut Butter Chocolate
  • Chocolate White Chocolate Toffee (the toffee bits contain trace amounts of almonds)

Please note while only a few of our cookies contain nuts, all of our cookies and brownies are made on shared equipment that processes products made with wheat, dairy, eggs, tree nuts and peanuts.
